Dr. Paul Terrill, M.D. - Clinical Consultant

Dr. Paul Eugene Terrill is a highly respected physician and healthcare leader with over three decades of experience improving access to care and strengthening rural health systems. Since 1991, he has served as a staff physician and Clinical Director at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic in Grand Marais, MN, where he has played a central role in guiding quality improvement, operational excellence, and patient-centered care in a community health center setting.

Dr. Terrill earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed his Family Practice Residency with the Duluth Graduate Medical Education Council. Board-certified in Family Medicine since 1991, he maintains certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and other emergency and critical care disciplines.

Throughout his career, Dr. Terrill has held numerous leadership positions, including Chief of Staff at Cook County North Shore Hospital, Medical Director for multiple local EMS and ambulance squads, and advisor to several public health and community task forces. His leadership has spanned hospital governance, emergency response coordination, home health and hospice services, and integrated care delivery across multiple organizations.

Recognized for his exceptional service, Dr. Terrill has received multiple awards, including:

  • Lake Superior Medical Society Physician of the Year (2010)

  • Thomas A. Stolee Award for Exceptional Dedication to the Practice of Medicine (2007)

  • Arrowhead EMS Association Mark Rathke Medical Leadership Award (2006)
