Lesa Peterson, principal
Lesa Peterson is an accomplished and respected FQHC operations executive. She was most recently employed by Collier Health Services, Inc. (d/b/a Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida) for nine years, serving as the organization’s Director of Operations. In this role, Lesa oversaw the operations of nine medical facilities, three dental offices, and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, a mobile medical and dental unit operated by the organization in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southwest Florida. She also managed special programs, including a medical partnership with the Florida State University College of Medicine and a pediatric dental residency with the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
Lesa is also a member of Merces Consulting Group Inc. Having worked for several years with Merces’ compensation administration program in a management role, including participating in a significant implementation effort, Lesa is able to bring unique insight into the ongoing administration of Merces’ systems. Lesa works in several of the firm’s practices, including staff and executive compensation, employee communications, and organization design.
Lesa earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary’s University. She is a therapist by training, with a background in social service ranging from case management of students with disabilities, to vulnerable adults at risk of abuse/neglect/exploitation. In addition, Lesa spent several years at a hospice organization as the provider relations manager.
An army veteran, Lesa received Army Achievement Medals including one for meritorious achievement in support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm. She has also been honored by Gulfshore Business as a “40 Under Forty” business leader and by the State of Minnesota for contributions on behalf of children.
Lesa was an active board member with Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southwest Florida for six years. She is also very passionate about animal rescue and sits on the board of the Gulf Coast Humane Society, a local no-kill shelter. In their free time, she and her husband, Rich, enjoy running, biking and craft beer.
